TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Welcome to Connecting Earthlings! These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of our platform, which is available at https://connectingearthlings.com. By using our website, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please do not use our services.

1. DEFINITIONS

For this Agreement:

  • “Platform” refers to Connecting Earthlings, accessible at https://connectingearthlings.com.
  • “User” refers to any individual or entity using the platform, including service providers and service seekers.
  • “Service Provider” refers to individuals or businesses offering services through the platform.
  • “Service Seeker” refers to users seeking services from providers.
  • “Account” refers to a registered user’s profile on the platform.
  • “Third-Party Services” refer to external tools, payment gateways, or any external integrations used by the platform.

2. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

  1. By accessing or using Connecting Earthlings, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
  2. These terms may be updated periodically. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or website notifications.

3. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION & ELIGIBILITY

  1. Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  2. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during registration.
  3. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  4. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts with false or misleading information.

4. SERVICES PROVIDED

  1. Connecting Earthlings serves as an intermediary platform that connects service providers with service seekers.
  2. The platform does not employ, endorse, or guarantee any service provider listed on the platform.
  3. Users are responsible for verifying the credentials, experience, and reliability of service providers before hiring.

5. PAYMENTS, FEES, & TRANSACTIONS

  1. Payments for services may be made directly between the service seeker and provider or through an integrated payment system (if applicable).
  2. Connecting Earthlings may charge service fees for:
    • Premium listings
    • Promotional features
    • Transaction processing fees (if applicable)
  3. Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with Nigerian tax laws, including VAT and withholding tax obligations.
  4. In the case of disputes regarding payments, users should report the issue to Connecting the  Earthlings’ support team for review.

6. REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

  1. Connecting Earthlings does not process refunds for payments made directly between users.
  2. If a service provider fails to deliver the agreed service, service seekers may report the issue. If necessary, Connecting Earthlings may mediate the dispute.
  3. Refunds for platform-related services (e.g., premium listings) are subject to our refund policy, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

7. USER RESPONSIBILITIES & PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

Users agree NOT to:

  1. Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  2. Engage in illegal, deceptive, or unethical practices.
  3. Post inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content.
  4. Use the platform to promote violence, discrimination, or harassment.
  5. Violate Nigerian laws, including the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.
  6. Interfere with or disrupt the platform’s security and functionality.

Any violation of these terms may result in account suspension or permanent banning from the platform.

8. DISPUTE RESOLUTION & DAMAGE CLAIMS

  1. Users are encouraged to resolve disputes among themselves amicably.
  2. If a dispute arises, Connecting Earthlings may mediate between the parties to reach a fair resolution.
  3. Any damages, fraud, or misconduct by a service provider should be reported immediately to Connecting Earthlings via [support email].
  4. We will investigate reports of misconduct and take appropriate action, including warnings, suspensions, or bans.
  5. If legal action is required, disputes shall be settled by the Lagos State Multi-Door Courthouse (LMDC) Mediation Process before any court proceedings.

9. PRIVACY & DATA PROTECTION

  1. Connecting Earthlings collects and processes user data in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
  2. Personal data (e.g., name, contact details) will not be shared with third parties without user consent, except as required by law.
  3. Users have the right to request access, modification, or deletion of their data.

10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

  1. The Connecting Earthlings name, logo, trademarks, and platform content are protected under Nigerian intellectual property laws.
  2. Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or modify any platform content without prior written permission.
  3. Service Providers retain ownership of their content but grant the platform the right to display and promote their listings.

11. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & LINKS

  1. The platform may contain links to third-party websites, payment gateways, or external services.
  2. Connecting Earthlings is not responsible for the security, functionality, or privacy policies of third-party services.
  3. Users should review third-party terms before engaging with such services.

12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

  1. Connecting Earthlings is committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy platform.
  2. Users who experience fraud, damage, or any loss should report it immediately for investigation.
  3. Connecting Earthlings shall not be held liable for:
    • Service providers failing to deliver agreed-upon services.
    • Financial losses resulting from private transactions between users.
    • Any force majeure events beyond our control.

13. ACCOUNT TERMINATION & SUSPENSION

  1. Connecting Earthlings reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violating these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Users may delete their accounts at any time by contacting support.
  3. If an account is suspended due to misconduct, refunds will not be issued for any active premium services.

14. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

  1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
  2. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Enugu State, Nigeria.
